This month the Ray FBLA chapter has completed a lot of fundraising. During volleyball games, members sold 50/50 tickets to spectators. As a result, we have made $564. The $564 of the 50/50 will be going to a local breast cancer awareness organization. We helped put on a corn feed with the help of the local evelvator and a local farm owner, in which we receive $699 in donations. For this, we had to help set up and take down and have to serve the food. With the football booklets, each person who wins will get 50 dollars. We give out 21 payments, as there are 21 Monday Night Football games. When we did the concessions we sold the drinks as well as the popcorn at the volleyball games. These are all the activities we did for the month.

South Heart:

On Friday, September 20 our elementary school hosted a Family Code Camp!! There were over 70 people there! I was SO proud of eight of my FBLA members who volunteered to help with the event. From 3:30pm-8:00pm they worked incredibly hard; running to Walmart for last minutes items, setting up the gym for the event, prepping for the meal, serving the meal, cleaning up the meal, then finally helping the families with the code puzzles, and taking down all the tables and chairs afterwards! I think the best part was I didn’t have to ask one of them to do something that night. They paid attention to what was going on and took the initiative to do whatever needed to be done. Talk about LEADERSHIP!! See the picture below to catch the girls in action!

Stanley:

This month, we conducted three chapter meetings and welcomed many new members. Our most significant recruitment effort took place during the week of September 9, where both the existing member and the new recruit would receive a DQ blizzard as a reward for joining our FBLA chapter.

To kick off our fundraising efforts for the year, Stanley FBLA sold lemonade at two home football games on September 13 and 27 and raised over $1,000 a night. We also sold peaches from Palisade Peach Shack which were delivered on September 2. Additionally, we have applied for gaming funds and are actively replenishing our ATM and vending machines at the school.

On September 3, Stanley FBLA connected with Mary from the American Heart Association to discuss a potential partnership, followed by a meeting with our AHA committee on September 10. We are currently working on finalizing plans for this project.

As a chapter, we expressed our gratitude to our sponsors by sending out thank you letters. 15 percent of our members have completed a level of the Business Achievement Awards. We also placed our first order for chapter shirts/sweaters.

Williston High School:
