NORTH DAKOTA are doing this month!
BOWBELLS:
This month was a pretty busy month for the Bowbells FBLA. On December 4 a vendor show was held at the city hall. The Bowbells FBLA was asked to serve the meal. We served soups and sandwiches. We also did our yearly fundraiser, which is selling birthday calendars. These calendars have every person in the community’s birthday and anniversary. Another thing that the FBLA does once a week is the backpack program. We send two members once every week to fill bags up with food for the people who don’t always get to eat. This is one of the best things that we do.
CARRINGTON:
During the month of December, the Carrington chapter held an officer meeting where we discussed upcoming events. We then held an all-member meeting where one of the Carrington FBLA alumni, Addison Hoornaert, attended. The chapter held a bake sale for the March of Dimes on December 2nd at Carrington Elementary’s Christmas concert. The majority of the proceeds went to the MOD. The Carrington chapter also completed the Champion Chapter Service Season.
DIVIDE COUNTY:
During the month of December, Divide County members sold community birthday calendars. Members finished their Contributor Levels and events were picked for state conference. The Service Challenge was completed the Christmas Mystery Meal – Grinchmas and white elephant exchange was enjoyed on December 19.
DRAKE-ANAMOOSE:
To start December off we worked in our coffee shop that Wednesday during lunch. We have been busy with working in the concession stand at basketball games and our coffee shop every Wednesday and Friday. On the 17th we hosted a Christmas party and a lock in. There we really focused on creating connections and friendships with each other. We played games like flashlight tag, Uno, SkipBo, had a cookie decorating contest, white elephant game, and made tie blankets to donate to a shelter in either Minot or Bismarck. Overall it was a success the members really enjoyed it and were already talking about next years lock in!
ENDERLIN:
The Enderlin Chapter of Future Business Leaders of America had a busy December. Our activities included wrapping up our pizzas sales and delivering the pizzas, selling 50-50 tickets at girls basketball games, announcing our December Alum of the month, hosting the Lil Shopper’s Shoppe and donating the proceed to local charities, completing our Service Season activities, and holding parliamentary procedure practices.
GRENORA:
In the month of December, the Grenora FBLA chapter organized an Angel Tree Project. All of the angels were quickly snatched from the tree and gifts had been donated by the community for nearly 30 kids this Christmas season!
Our chapter also decorated wreaths and auctioned them off as a chapter fundraiser. We profited about $200. This money will be used for our trip to the SLC in March and for conducting current and future community service projects.
As a chapter, we set up “Warm Heart Award” nomination boxes around town. We allowed the people of Grenora to write-in someone in the community they believe goes above and beyond to help and put others first.
In addition to our busy month, we had a professional dress day on Friday, December 10th and a regular meeting.
MANDAN:
On December 8th, the FBLA chapter officers did a presentation to the FBLA group. They promoted what FBLA is and why to join. Also, they took a look at different conference events FBLA has to offer.
MAY-PORT CG:
May-Port CG FBLA had an active December! For our monthly meeting, members competed in a trivia night. All members had a blast. Drinks and snacks were provided. Members also continued to sell raffle tickets as well as Country Meats Beef Sticks. A project to help renovate our town’s public library was also brought to some members of our chapter to begin a new community service project with matching donations of up to $5,000 by anonymous donors.
STANLEY:
During the month of December, Stanley FBLA members wrapped up their Little Caesars Pizza fundraiser and made plans for State FBLA. State officer candidates started completing their applications. Members started working on state projects as well.
RED RIVER:
On the 18th we all sat down with snacks and computers to work on our BAA awards for the year, with the goal of making it through the Leader level. We all got at least our contributor level done, and had a ton of fun doing it! While we worked we chatted and ate and got a lot done at the same time. That next Monday, the 20th, we met for our annual Christmas party meeting to decorate cookies and enjoy a nice laid back meeting. Our advisor made a cute gingerbread girl with a skirt, and the other honorable mention goes to the blue monster cookie one of the students made, with textured fur and teeth! All and all, it was a successful and eventful month and we got a lot done while having fun and getting to know each other better!
