Take a look at what the chapters in NORTH DAKOTA are doing this month!
Carrington:
Our main focus for the month of January was State FBLA and getting students signed up for their events! We held an officer meeting and planned our agenda for our all-member meeting and FBLA week. At our all member we discussed SLC, handed out forms, and went over a tentative agenda. Sarah Nava was awarded our member of the month for being our first member to hand in her dues for SLC and has been super helpful at fundraising events! We also had members sign up for chuck-a-duck, our main event we do during the whole week of FBLA week, which our students really enjoy participating in! We excited for FBLA week and prepare for our events for State Leadership Conference!
Des Lacs-Burlington:
For the month of January, we held meetings to plan and study for the upcoming state events. On January 29th, we held our monthly meeting with all members and handed out sheets for everyone to start fundraising. We handed out raffle tickets and food books for our members to raise money for the state competition and nationals. On the 30th, we listened to Harvie Herrington give us a speech about leadership and later on in the day we also participated in a leadership workshop.
Drake Anamoose:
High School:
This month the Drake-Anamoose chapter was very busy! They stayed busy in the concession stand with our members at our home basketball games all throughout this month, almost weekly. As well as, the coffee shop was busy every Wednesday afternoon and Friday mornings, the members arriving early to make these varieties of drinks. The chapter also had a Blood Drive on January 15th, 23 people showed up and donated! Earlier this month they also had a meeting on the 6th where members could bring a friend or sibling to show them what FBLA does and what its about and had two dress up days.

we have also been busy with coffee shop and concessions. We have also had work nights for people to work on SLC. We also had our gooschase made.
Edgeley:
Glen Ullin:
Our FBLA Chapter recently held an engaging meeting where we had the opportunity to welcome an inspiring guest speaker and accomplished FBLA alumna. She shared her valuable insights on leadership and the various career opportunities available to students pursuing business-related fields. Her stories and experiences motivated many of us to think critically about our futures and the importance of developing strong leadership skills. In addition to our guest speaker, we held a “Dress to Impress” day. This encourages our members to put their best foot forward, whether it’s for presentations, meetings, or interviews and helps to cultivate a strong sense of professionalism within our chapter. Furthermore, we organized a productive study night focused on preparing and completing our Business Achievement Awards (BAAs). Members collaborated, shared resources, and supported one another as we worked through our BAAs and studied for our events. Our officers have been meeting to discuss FBLA week in February. Our chapter is excited to share the importance of FBLA with the school and community. Overall, this month has been extremely busy, yet successful. We are excited about the progress we’ve made and look forward to applying what we’ve learned as we continue to grow as future business leaders.
Grand Forks Central:
Grand Forks Central FBLA celebrated FBLA Week early to recruit new members with the change of semester and classes. We had treats for members on Monday, FBLA event sign up/finalization/work day on Tuesday, BAA workday on Thursday, and finished the week with Professional Dress Day on Friday. The events led to the addition of 5 new members. We also prepared to attend the CTE in Memorial Hall event. The adviser worked with the students attending to determine the technology to bring and what would be discussed. We also set up a tour of a photography studio in Bismarck to learn about the ways photography was done in the 1850s. Lastly, we finalized our student registration for the National and state levels.
Hazen:
On the 21st our chapter had a meeting regarding state information. Students finished picking out state events and started working on them. During that meeting we gave assignments of businesses to students to collect raffle prizes for a fundraiser.
Hilsboro:
The Hillsboro FBLA Blizzard Ball was a highlight of the year for our chapter, bringing together over 100 students for an incredible night of fun and fundraising. The event was a huge success, raising well over $1,000 for the American Heart Association—a cause close to our hearts. Our officer team worked tirelessly to make it happen, taking charge of every detail. They collaborated with the DJ to negotiate rates and schedule the perfect time for the event, ensuring the music kept everyone on the dance floor. Additionally, they partnered with school officials to guarantee everything ran smoothly. The Blizzard Ball was not only a great time for students but also a testament to the dedication and teamwork of our FBLA chapter.
Larimore:
The Larimore High School FBLA Chapter recently worked with a local business owner Lisa Bakke, Larimore Coffee Shop, to survey the students of Larimore High School. Middle level member, Kyren Christensen, designed a survey in Office365 that pertained to questions Lisa Bakke wanted answered about being a customer at the Coffee Shop. The results of the survey were shared with the Larimore Coffee Shop in hopes that Lisa Bakke would be able to improve or add to her business. Members have signed up for their events for the State Leadership Conference and are beginning to study for the events. Our fundraising in concessions is coming to and end. We managed the concessions for the Larimore Wrestling Invitational Tournament which was a 17-team tournament. Great day for fundraising! Our officers are working with the FFA officers to celebrate CTE Month. Plans are being made for FBLA to include dress-up days, donuts and juice for all staff and students, FBLA Trivia Wheel and a CTE Pep Rally.
May-Port CG:
During the month of January, MPCG FBLA continued it’s month of money fundraising campaign. They wrapped up ticket sales at the end of the month and brought in almost $30,000. Prize money will be awarded to winners every day in February in the amount of $200. Members also participated in two work days. During this time both middle school and high school members had an opportunity to put some finishing touches on their projects and reports. The chapter also finalized events for state competition.
Nedrose:
During the month of January, Nedrose FBLA hosted a Professional Dress Day and Chapter Work Day where a share of new members completed their BAA/LEAD awards. Our chapter also received a new shipment of World’s Finest Chocolate to help raise money. Members have continued to have chapter meetings every other week during the month of January. At these meetings we have been working to plan for FBLA week and events to compete in at SLC. We are looking forward to the February and all that comes with getting ready for SLC.
Our Redeemer’s Christian School:
We recapped responsibility roles for end of week for AHA fundraiser we are currently putting on.
We also established themed days next week for FBLA Week that we as a chapter will be participating in.
Monday: professional dress
Tuesday: blue and gold day
Wednesday: member trivia after chapel for grades 6-12
Thursday: bake sale
We ended the meeting by establishing responsibilities for the bake sale we are hosting next week–this is for FBLA week and to raise money for our chapter to attend the state conference.
Ray:
This month our chapter put on our annual FBLA carnival. This year there wasn’t as many people as the years before, but we still had over 70 people show up. We had 26 members and 2 advisers in attendance. This made setting up all of the games and consessions go smoothly. Some of the most popular games were the jail, bouncy castles, and face painting. After all the games were done, we did bingo with the maximum prize being $100. We also did bingo at half time during basketball games.
Tioga:
January has been a very busy month for the Tioga FBLA chapter. To prepare for the State Leadership Conference, members have been finalizing their chapter projects and selecting the events they plan to compete in. The most recent chapter project was the Community Service Project in which members hosted a “baby shower” in support of Dakota Hope Clinic. We were able to bring a surplus of baby/maternity supplies as well as over $600 in monetary/gift card donations. In order to raise additional awareness for the organization, members placed flyers around the school. Eight members completed a BAA level and three completed a LEAD level. In addition, we organized a chapter business tour which will take place on Wednesday, February 12th. The members will be visiting NCC and Pour Some Sugar Custom Cakes Bakery in Ray. Finally, in order to assist with the financial costs, members have been serving concessions at the local girls’ basketball games.
Williston High School:
During the month of January we focused on planning our latest fundraiser, PICKLEBALL TOURNAMENT. It has been a big responsibility for officers to narrow down a venue, a date that fits with least sporting events, sponsors, prizes etc.
Wishek:
This month, Wishek FBLA decided to focus on competitive events. We held a meeting on January 15th to discuss details about competitive events and when we will be practicing for them. We selected Wednesday mornings to be our designated practice times. Also at that meeting, we had a presentation from a local business, Titan Machinery, by store manager Betsy Vetter. She explained all of the career opportunities that are available at the store, what to store offers to the community, and many other informative things about the business. After the meeting, our officer team met to revise and update our Program of Work. We are excited for SLC and are preparing more and more each day to make sure we are successful.
Thank you to all of the Chapters who submitted their news!
