Take a look at what the chapters in NORTH DAKOTA are doing this month!

Ashley:

It is always a busy month for the Ashley FBLA chapter in October! Our chapter officers attended the Fall Leadership Conference on October 6th and 7th to kick off the start of this month. At the conference, we had many opportunities to learn leadership skills and ways to build our chapter towards success. Our pizza sales also started around the time of the Fall Leadership Conference. These pizza sales are a great way for us to fundraise more money for our chapter, especially when members put in their best efforts!
Towards the middle of October, our chapter had a Professional Dress Day on October 15th. All of the members did a spectacular job at following the guidelines according to the FBLA dress code. During our meeting on October 21st, we discussed numerous opportunities for volunteer hours and upcoming boo gram sales. Boo gram sales were a huge success this year, and our product for the students was glow sticks. We handed them out on Halloween, so the students would have accessories to decorate their costumes for the dark, spooky night ahead of them. This was a great way to end the month of October!

Beach:

Beach High School and Middle School chapters attended this years FLC. We had a blast attending workshops, listening to Kyle, and learning more about FBLA. We had a great time as a chapter together, and our new members enjoyed it very much and they said they cant wait till SLC. We cannot wait see all of our handshake partners and everyone at state in March.

Burke:

In October our chapter started fund raising by selling pizzas. The money we raise will go into our SLC fund! Our members also handed out candy and decorated trunks for the trunk or treat!

In October we also held an officer meeting, which included discussion on this month’s all member meeting, upcoming fundraisers, and preparing for state events. At our all member meeting our chapter held new member inductions, awarded our member of the month, and held a discussion on state leadership conference. The highlight of our all member meeting was having two guest speakers – Carrington Officer Walker Carr and ND National Guard SFC Andrew Tanata! Mr. Carr and Mr. Tanata gave their feedback on how business is used in their current work positions.

Our workers worked hard during the rushes that came every now and then. It all started with our advisors old friend. She came in and we held a mini meeting during school to talk about certain dates we selected dates that matched almost everybody’s schedule. We worked hard on the Sunday a week before the actual Supper on the 19. We made knoephela and strudel. We held the supper on the 26th. We sold 155 meals in 1.5 hours. We served at the Hometown Tavern. We made 2,400 dollars. We worked hard and had a great time.

The following Monday morning they participated in workshops held by the keynote speaker and the state officers. In the workshops they worked on various things such as networking, public speaking, parliamentary procedure, and many topics regarding FBLA. They then listened to the closing session from the keynote speaker. On October 16th, selected FBLA members went to the MSU Tech Day; Jade Uhlich, Mason Schuh, and Zack Volson placed. In the weeks following Mason Schuh our chapter secretary received State Member of the Month for Region II. Not only did they do all of those fun activities this month but they also had a German Supper Night at the Tavern in Harvey. There they sold out within a hour and a half, selling over 150 meals. All meals sold, caused this chapter to gain over $2,000. To end this month off they decided to have an FBLA Spirit Day on October 30th! Members dressed in their FBLA chapter shirts!
