Take a look at what the chapters in NORTH DAKOTA are doing this month!
Bowbells:
In September, we completed the Summer Starter section of Champion Chapter. To spread out the work for Summer Starter, each class was assigned a section of Summer Starter. Each of the classes had time to work on their section during class every Friday. We also had our first meeting, and everything went smoothly. During this meeting, we discussed t-shirt designs and the upcoming Fall Leadership Conference. Following this meeting, we finalized a design and placed an order for our t-shirts. Finally, we established our LifeSmarts teams.
Burke Central:
This month we had our 2 fundraising events. We held a school wide rummage sale where people donate their gently used items and we hold a free will donation rummage sale. We raised over $1,800 on this event. Then we sold double good popcorn. This is a great fundraiser because we only had to sell popcorn for 1 week and all the items are shipped directly to the customers so we don’t have to spend time sorting and delivering. We made just of $3,800 selling popcorn! We will do this fundraiser again for sure. We also worked on the Stock MarketGgame and studying for LifeSmarts. We took the monthly test for September and plan to try to do all the monthly tests and the fall and spring challenges.
Carrington:
We started the month of September with our FBLA interest meeting, the officer team went around the school and gave recruitment presentations to underclassmen, we also held a recruitment challenge for returning members – The member that brought the most new people to our meeting receives dues and a T-shirt for free. At our interest meeting our officers went over what our chapter does throughout the school year, highlighting fundraising events and SLC. We ended our interest meeting with members going out and finding selfies of our officer team for a chance to win a prize. Also during this month, our chapter completed Summer Starter for Champion Chapter. Our chapter has done candy sales at a few home sporting events. Our officer team is preparing to attend FLC. Towards the end of September, we held our first actual member meeting, as well as an officer meeting.
Drake – Anamoose:
High School-
This month, the Drake-Anamoose FBLA chapter has been busy! Their coffee shop, now open 3 days a week, has been booming with business. Members also sold concessions at home volleyball games. In addition, they participated in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s at Oak Park in Minot, raising over $1,000 through donations. The walk itself brought in over $55,000. On September 3rd, the chapter hosted a very successful blood drive. In recognition of their efforts, the Drake-Anamoose FBLA Chapter was also named Chapter of the Month for August!

Middle School:
We had meetings, coffee shops, concessions, as well as the Alzeimers walk. We also prepped for FLC and had our monthly meeting.
Glen Ullin:
Our FBLA chapter officially began the year with our first meetings as we discussed upcoming events, competitions, and fundraising plans. We’re excited to see both returning and new members taking on roles and responsibilities to make this year amazing. Our new officers are working hard to make this a great year!

Grand Forks Central High School:
September has been a busy month for GFC FBLA. We kicked off the school year and had our first FBLA meeting on September 9th. We weren’t expecting many new members but we had 30+ students attend, which was very exciting. We discussed the year, benefits of joining FBLA, FLC, SLC, and NLC, and handed out forms to members to attend the Fall Leadership Conference. We had 22 students turn in forms to attend the conference and 15 of those are brand new members! We plan to have our next meeting on October 1st to discuss FLC and all that we will be doing!
Hatton/Northwood:
We have established committees for several Community Service Projects, with plans to complete about four to five throughout the year. One project is already underway — our committee has met, contacted the necessary sources, and scheduled activities for October, November, and December. In December, we will collaborate with the music department to go caroling at the local long-term care facility. We have also made great progress on the Local Chapter Annual Business Report and have paid all national membership dues. Additionally, we have secured a guest speaker to discuss finance with FBLA in October and submitted our Summer Starter two weeks ahead of the deadline. Members are actively working on Shaping for Success, having completed six of the thirteen sections, and many have started or finished their BAAs. Earlier this month, we held both an FBLA meeting and a recruitment meeting, and we have registered 14 members to attend the Fall Leadership Conference. For fundraising, we have finalized plans for three major fundraisers and three school concessions. Our sports auctions, featuring signed volleyballs and footballs, will take place during Homecoming games. We also began selling lollipops, with 500 sold so far and another 500 to go. A portion of proceeds will benefit the American Heart Association. In addition, we have scheduled a business tour for mid-November and registered 16 Stock Market Teams, with about half already purchasing stocks.

Linton High School:
This month, the Linton High School chapter kicked off our membership recruitment. Our officers planned a “Sweeten Your Future” themed meeting for new and returning members, where we had Crumbl Cookies to snack on while discussing the chapter, upcoming activities, and competitive events. The officers began working on assignments for Summer Starter, and were able to submit these on time. All are now able to access the BAA awards and have begun working on these. All officers are planning to attend the Fall Conference in Bismarck in October. The chapter dues were paid during the last week of September.
Mandan High School:
During the month of September our FBLA chapter has been successful. We first had our new member/kickoff meeting on September 16, which was a great turn out. Many people showed up and were very interested in continuing their path in FBLA. Then on September 20 our FBLA chapter got together and made two booths to help give out drinks and electrolytes at the Bismarck Marathon. Our chapter made the best of the day with both cheering on runners and also having a chapter bonding.
May-Port CG:
In the month of September the May-Port CG chapter has had a meeting discussing the upcoming year. At our meeting we talked about what FBLA is, and were recruiting new members. We also introduced our officer team for our high school chapter. We had a separate meeting for our officers and we talked about what our roles will be for the year. We also went over fundraising ideas for the year. At our officer meeting we also worked on our Champion Chapter and Go for ND Gold too. Also in the officer meeting we touched on our favorite fundraising idea, the annual haunted house that we do every year. We are really trying emphasize this year’s FBLA theme of “Make your Mark”, and we are trying to build our FBLA chapter and making our mark this year by showing leadership throughout our chapter along with getting more people involved.
Minot High School:
Member Recruitment: This month, Minot High School has participated in two key opportunities to recruit new members. On August 18th, our school hosted an open house for both new and returning students. We used this event as a chance to connect with students we might not have interacted with yet. Our chapter set up a table at the event and our president and vice president shared information about FBLA and encouraged students to join. On September 3rd, our school organized a club fair during both lunches that gave us another great opportunity to reach out to our students. We set up a table, manned the table with both returning and new FBLA members and they handed out information and spoke with students who were interested about the benefits of joining FBLA.
Nedrose High School:
Nedrose FBLA kicked off September with making plans for the upcoming year. After having an interest meeting, Nedrose FBLA has 8 middle school members and 17 high school members. We worked hard to complete and submit Champion Chapter Summer Starter. Our chapter has also been busy selling world’s finest chocolate and working concessions at ball games. We are all looking forward to attending the Fall Leadership Conference.
Ray High School:
In September, Ray FBLA members were busy fundraising and recruiting new members. Members sold Monday Night Football booklets for $2,500 and World’s Finest Chocolate boxes for $2,100. This totals $4,600, which goes towards paying off the chocolate boxes, the payouts for the MNF booklets ,and the remainder is personal fundraising for each member. Then, we worked the hot foods concessions at 2 volleyball games, which raised over $1,000 for personal and chapter fundraising. Lastly, during the home volleyball games, we sold 50/50 for cancer awareness, which raised over $1,000 as well as sold 50/50 at football games for the local food pantry, in which we raised $310.
Red River High School:
September was a busy month for RRHS FBLA! We had “Welcome Back!” cards made to gear us up for the upcoming season! We held our Root Beer Float Social for returning and prospective members to discuss all things FBLA. We signed up for the Stock Market Game and are preparing for FLC in the upcoming days!

Stanley High School:
The Stanley FBLA chapter hit the ground running this school year with a busy and productive September. Members met three times before school in the new demonstration room, where they discussed FBLA membership, the dress code, and began exploring competitive event categories. The chapter covered the basics of objective tests and plans to continue reviewing the remaining event types in October. Officers also met separately to plan upcoming activities and developed a monthly calendar to keep members informed and engaged. Fundraising efforts started early, with members selling lemonade at three home football games to kick off the year’s fundraising goals. The chapter also introduced a new “Member of the Month” recognition program, honoring two outstanding members with certificates during a chapter meeting for their dedication and involvement.
Several members registered for the statewide Stock Market Challenge and have already begun building their stock portfolios. Another exciting development was the installation of a brand-new snack vending machine at the school. After years of dealing with a malfunctioning one, the chapter used available funds to purchase an updated machine that accepts digital payments — continuing a long-standing and profitable fundraising tradition for the chapter.
To wrap up the month, Stanley Public School hosted a community open house on September 22 to celebrate the completion of a new CTE expansion. All career and technical student organizations participated: FFA sold taco-in-a-bag, FCCLA offered Blue Jay merchandise and baked goods, and FBLA once again provided its signature lemonade. Members also volunteered by greeting visitors, giving tours, and answering questions, proudly showcasing the new facilities and the many opportunities available through Stanley’s CTE programs.

Thank you to all of the Chapters who submitted their news!
