Take a look at what the chapters in NORTH DAKOTA are doing this month!

Ashley:

The month of October was a busy one for the Ashley FBLA chapter! Our chapter officers attended the Fall Leadership Conference on October 5th and 6th; this was a great start to the month. At the conference, we had many opportunities to network and think of new ideas with other chapters. Towards the middle of October, our chapter had Professional Dress Day on October 14th and all of our members did not disappoint. Members also took charge and sold chocolate goodies throughout the whole month of October. It was a fun-filled month!

Bowbells:

In October, we held our monthly meeting, during which we discussed a new fundraiser we are launching. For the fundraiser, we are selling pizza, coffee, popcorn, and pasta with the assistance of Rhombus Guys pizza of Grand Forks. Earlier this month, we observed a professional dress day, and participation was good. In addition to our professional dress day, we had a spirit day to show our FBLA spirit. We had some people from our chapter participate in the MSU Tech Day, and Autumn James took 3rd place in Accounting. Our chapter officers decided on a picture for the birthday calendars, and the calendar has been submitted and should be here in early December for distribution.

Burke Central:

Our chapter hosted 2 meetings this month. Most of us got our events picked out already and we went over some fundraising ideas again. Our chapter is selling drinks every Friday as a fundraiser which was a excellent idea. We are also selling jerky and Rancher signs. We sold drinks, jerky, and 50/50 tickets at our volleyball game hosted here in Lignite. We also got our chapter shirts in. We also did chapter spirit day. We also did our buddy activity in the beginning of October.

Carrington:

In the beginning of October, our officer team attended the FBLA Fall Leadership Conference in Bismarck. At this conference, our officer team had the opportunity to network with other chapters, learn leadership skills, attend workshops, and participate in a fun trivia game. Our chapter held an officer meeting to discuss upcoming events, fundraisers, and Champion Chapter activities. We are excited to host our first FBLA movie night at our local theater. We held an all-member meeting, which started with the telephone game that informed members about our upcoming chapter movie night. We also discussed state events and the official ND FBLA dress code. Our chapter T-shirts also came in at the end of October, and we hosted our first T-shirt day.

Drake – Anamoose:

The Drake-Anamoose FBLA chapter has had a busy month filled with opportunities for leadership, service, and fun. On October 5th and 6th, members attended the annual Fall Leadership Conference, where they joined FBLA chapters from across the state to participate in workshops on leadership, communication, and professionalism. Students also had the chance to network with other members and hear from inspiring speakers who encouraged them to pursue their goals with confidence. Later in the month, the chapter attended MSU Tech Day, sponsored by SRT, where members explored careers in technology and gained hands-on experience with innovations in cybersecurity, communication, finance, and software. In addition to these events, the chapter held its October monthly meeting, where members enjoyed painting pumpkins together. A fun, creative way to celebrate the fall season and build camaraderie within the chapter. The Drake-Anamoose FBLA chapter also stays active in the school community by running the concession stand during home games, raising funds for future activities while serving fans and families. Another highlight of the year is the student-run coffee shop, which gives members valuable experience in customer service, teamwork, and business operations. Through all these events and activities, the Drake-Anamoose FBLA chapter continues to demonstrate leadership, creativity, and dedication to both personal and community growth. In addition to these accomplishments, the members have begun preparing for the State Leadership Conference by signing up for events.

Glen Ullin:

Grand Forks Central High School:

October was a busy month for Grand Forks Central FBLA. We attended and brought 24 students to the ND Fall Leadership Conference. Most of the students were new to FBLA or our chapter officers. Students had a great time and learned more about FBLA and what to expect throughout the year. GFC FBLA Also submitted registration through the national office and we registered 26 students. That shows a growth already and we are expecting more members to attend and become a member of our chapter and compete at the State Leadership Conference. We have also had a couple chapter meetings and officer meetings. We are in the process of setting up a tour of the UND Nistler College of Business, we have invited a local businessman to come and speak to our chapter, and we are going to do a hot chocolate fundraiser where we will also promote FBLA and encourage students to attend the next meeting. Finally, GFC FBLA was award the Summer Starter for Champion Chapter! We are now working to finalize the Shaping Success portion of Champion Chapter and should have that all completed by the next deadline.

Maple Valley:

This month was a great start of our second year of FBLA in our school district. We attended FLC with 11 students this year! That’s four more than last year and the members really enjoyed it! At our monthly meeting we this month we went over the different competitive event options and members are now able to find the ones they want to compete it. We are excited to see where this chapter goes this year! Stay tuned!

Members were also introduced to their newest fundraiser, the month of money. Each member is to sell 5 tickets priced at $50 each. Along with regular meetings, members also began to set their events for the SLC through a Google form and meeting with advisers. Members will each receive a chapter shirt next month.

Minot High School:

Community Service Project: This month, our chapter hosted a major community service initiative called the Winter Gear Drive. The goal of this project was to support families in need during the harsh winter season in North Dakota. To spread awareness, we created and distributed posters throughout the community and shared them across various social media platforms, including radio, television, newspaper and our own instagram and multiple facebook pages. We encouraged community members to donate new or gently used winter clothing items such as coats, hats, gloves, and boots that they no longer needed. After a successful collection period, we reached out to local elementary schools to help identify families who could benefit most from this. We then hosted the event at our school where families were invited to come and pick out any items they needed for themselves or their children, completely free of charge. This project was an incredible opportunity for our chapter to give back to our community, and we’re proud of the positive impact it made during a time when warmth and support are especially important.

Our chapter is working hard to raise funds for our upcoming State and National FBLA Conferences! Our officers and members are selling boxes of World’s Finest Chocolate for just $2 each. Not only will this fundraiser help support travel and registration costs for our chapter, but it also benefits our members by giving them an opportunity to develop their communication and sales skills. Every bar sold brings us one step closer to reaching our goals and representing our chapter at the next level!

Minot North:

Chapter officers attended state FLC, we participated in a Trunk or Treat event with our school’s DECA, we fundraised for our chapter by working concessions at volleyball games, we also had a guest speaker, Wendi Baggaley, for a lesson/talk parliamentary procedure.

Nedrose High School:

The month of October kicked off with 13 of our 23 members attending the Fall Leadership Conference in Bismarck. This was great opportunity for new and returning members to network and get excited for the upcoming year. We even had 2 more students join after learning how much fun members had at FLC. Members have served concessions at 2 volleyball games so far and have been selling world’s finest chocolate like crazy to help raise funds for our chapter. We ended the month with a Chapter Work Day where 11 members attended. They spent the afternoon working on their BAAs, Student Challenges as well as looking at what events they want to compete in this spring.

Red River High School:

October was a busy month for RRHS FBLA! Our chapter attended FLC in Bismarck and had a blast! We also collected and submitted our dues. We did a community service project where we painted pumpkin ornaments with the residents of Edgewood Independent Living Center. We are still working on the Stock Market Game, a fundraising event with ND Coffee Roastery, and a food drive in the works!

Stanley High School:

The Stanley FBLA chapter had a productive and exciting October, filled with leadership experiences, fundraising success, and plenty of chapter spirit. The month began with select members attending the North Dakota FBLA Fall Leadership Conference in Bismarck. Our own Payton Lystad represented Stanley FBLA in a leadership role by helping to facilitate the conference and leading a workshop. Our chapter kicked off the second day of the conference bright and early Monday morning with a chapter breakfast at IHOP. Back at school, Stanley FBLA held two chapter meetings during October. This year, our chapter is focusing on helping members prepare for competitive events leading up to the State Leadership Conference (SLC) in the spring. At our first meeting, we discussed objective test events, giving members insight into study strategies and event selection. Later in the month, we explored role play events and what judges look for during competitions. Attendance was especially strong at our last meeting—though the donuts we served might have had something to do with that! On the fundraising front, our chapter continued to manage the school’s snack vending machine, which remains one of our most successful projects. In fact, at one point this month, we made over $700 in just three days! Members have also been busy selling Little Caesars Pizza kits, with delivery and pickup expected in November. As October came to a close, our members were already looking ahead to our third annual Mini Spirit Week, held during the short school week in November. The event includes themed dress-up days, snacks, and treats attached to the FBLA locker signs in the hallways. The week will also feature our participation in Tech Day at Minot State University, where eight members represented Stanley FBLA in various competitions. We’re proud to share that three members placed in the top three of their respective events! Meanwhile, other members have been showing off their business skills by competing virtually in the Stock Market Game, applying what they’ve learned in real-world financial scenarios. To wrap up the month, Stanley FBLA celebrated the addition of two new members who joined at the end of October. We also hosted a Pumpkin Carving and Cookie Decorating Night on October 24 for all members. It was a “BYOP – Bring Your Own Pumpkin” event, and our chapter provided cookies, frosting, and plenty of snacks. Nearly 50% of our membership attended, which we consider a huge success—especially for a 7:00 p.m. Friday night activity! Overall, the Stanley FBLA chapter is proud of the energy and involvement our members have shown so far this school year. We’re feeling positive about our progress and excited for what’s ahead in November and beyond!

Tioga Public School:

In the month of October, the Tioga FBLA chapter was able to achieve a lot. One of the first things we did was take our officers to the Fall Leadership Conference. They got the opportunity to go to workshops, and listen to great speakers. The second event our chapter was fortunate to be able to participate in was the MSU Tech Day event. At this event, members competed in various business-related events. We were proud to have four members place:
1st Place Presentation Software – Kiya Sparks
2nd Place Cybersecurity – Henry Rhode
2nd Place Personal Finance- Dwayne Declaro
3rd Place Spreadsheets – Taylor Brown

A fundraising accomplishment we had this month was our chapter fundraiser. Our FBLA chapter decided to open a drink shop in the mornings at our school. We have made a good amount of profit, the members are learning vital customer service skills, and the students love being able to get a drink in the morning.
For community outreach, our chapter also participated in the Pumpkin Fest event that the Main Street businesses hosted. Chapter members organized a fall themed coloring activity and book reading for children that visited the Tioga Soda Shoppe during the Pumpkin Fest event.
Overall the month of October has been a very busy and successful month for the Tioga FBLA Chapter.

Thank you to all of the Chapters who submitted their news!
