Take a look at what the chapters in NORTH DAKOTA are doing this month!

Beach:

We had our annual FBLA bowling trip this month! We first had supper at the local pizza place, then went bowling. We had a blast spending time together and getting to know some of our new members more! We already can not wait till we get to do this again next year!

Burke Central:

We started our pizza fundraiser and made sure everyone has their event picked out for State conference. We also participated in American Enterprise Day. Our chapter made thank you letters for all the teachers with free drink coupons. Almost every week we made drinks for the students and faculty.

Drake – Anamoose:

This month, the Drake-Anamoose chapter has been extremely active. Activities range from maintaining their student-operated coffee shop, where members gained customer service experience, to various volunteer efforts. On November 21st, members traveled to Minot and performed community service at the Matthew 25 Project. The chapter contributed by cleaning ditches, sweeping, sorting donations, organizing books and accessories, displaying clothes, and folding towels and blankets, which helped the staff maintain a welcoming and organized environment. Later that day, members toured Prairie Sky Breads, where they gained insight into running a local business, learned about the cost of goods, entrepreneurship, and observed the bread-making process. Earlier in the month, they also held a chapter meeting to plan these activities and discuss future initiatives.

Hazen High School:

In the month of November, our chapter held an officer meeting and an all chapter meeting. Some other things we were working on were tasks for Champion Chapter. We submitted Shaping Success and have started on Service Season. We are continually working on ND Go for the Gold along with BAAs and LEAD awards. We also led the entire high school through a fun Kahoot activity to celebrate entrepreneurship month.

Hillsbro:

Hillsboro FBLA recently visited Northern Pipe Products in Fargo, where members learned about the company’s operations and business practices. Students gained insight into the different branches of Northern Pipe and observed how PVC pipe is produced from start to finish. They also learned about the costs involved in production, how the company manages operations during busy seasons, and the history of how Northern Pipe began. Additionally, the visit highlighted the financial aspects of running the business and how the company develops and adapts its business plan to stay successful in a competitive market.
Hillsboro FBLA also held it’s annual Boogie Ball. We had a great turnout and will be donating money to one of FBLA’s charitable groups.
In addition, we had competitive events work nights as well. It was a good month for us!

Linton High School:

The Linton FBLA Members were on the move in November.
We started with a field trip to the One Million Cups in Bismarck to listen to the owners of the Bismarck Break Room tell their adventures in business ownership.
We also met with Jnnifer Wilson, the General Manager of the Kirkwood Mall. She talked to us about all the various tasks of mall management and the skills necessary to keep the mall running smoothly.
Our chapter completed our very successful Poppin’ Popcorn fundraiser.
Our chapter’s community service project continued with various activities to show our veteran appreciation. We held the first Veterans’ Day ceremony at our school in over 30 years. We had a LHS alum, Major Vanessa Lennick, as our guest speaker, and she shared a very powerful message with the LHS students and community members.
We recognized American Enterprise Month with various activities. All members participated in a Professional Dress day as well as an FBLA spirit day, where we wore our new chapter t-shirts.
Chapter members participated in Linton’s Light Up the Night community event, an afternoon/evening to bring community members together and encourage them to “shop local.” There, some members served hot cocoa at the community center.

May-Port CG:

In the month of November the MPCG FBLA chapter had a couple meetings. Our first meeting was our chapter meeting. At this meeting we talked about state and what events we will all be doing at state. The other meeting we had was just an officer meeting. We talked about how we could be more active in the chapter and communication. We also talked about possible community service projects and where we could go on a business tour.

Minot North High School:

This month we had professional dress days to prepare and practice dress code for upcoming conferences. We also had chapter and officer meetings to discuss our plans for a fundraiser in the month of December, a fun drink stand. Along with that our treasurer announced how much money we had total in our account after our last couple of fundraisers, and what we should do with that money. Also at meetings we discussed plans for a volunteer project in the month of January. To end off the month we had a field trip to North Star Community Credit Union, where we got to meet Bank employees, learn what they do, ask questions, and gain insight from them.

Nedrose High School:

Nedrose FBLA had a busy November working to plan for Champion Chapter Service Season.
Nedrose FBLA members had the opportunity to volunteer to help serve at the annual REM Thanksgiving dinner on Wednesday, November 19, at First Lutheran Church in Minot, ND. REM is an organization that helps adults and children with disabilities. Each year they host an annual Thanksgiving dinner to the people and families they serve. Members helped serve food to approximately 100 people, as well as clean up after the event. We really enjoyed the opportunity to learn and visit with those that attended. Members were able to see what an event such as this means to those it served.
Nedrose FBLA also hosted a chapter outing on Friday, November 21st to the Minot Minotauros game here in Minot. We had 13 members attend. This was a great chance to bond and cheer on our local hockey team.
We continue to sell World’s Finest Chocolate to help raise money for our chapter.

Ray:

This month was a busy and successful one for Ray FBLA. We kicked things off with our annual Turkey Bingo, where members served food and played bingo with community attendees. We had 17 members volunteer, and 62 people came out to play. The event raised $2,343, and after $700 in expenses, we earned a total profit of $1,643.
We also wrapped up our food bank project, finishing the counting, loading, and delivery of all donations. Thanks to strong community support, we collected over 1,800 items, totaling just over 1,600 pounds of food for the drive.
This month we were excited to welcome three new junior high members who joined through our essay contest. We also had the honor of hosting Abby Willenbring, former Ray FBLA member and state officer, who spoke to us about effective presenting and fundraising strategies.
To keep everything running smoothly, members attended three work nights throughout the month.
Overall, it was a productive month full of service, learning, and growth for Ray FBLA.

Red River High School

November has been a very productive month for our chapter. We held a holiday food drive in partnership with the Salvation Army to help fill their food bank. We also had a fundraiser with Bully Brew to help cover SLC costs. We are continuing to work on Stock Market Game, BAAs, and competitive events.

Tioga Public School

November was a great month for our chapter. The chapter gained quite a few new members this month. This is our largest membership year yet with a total of 35 members with more growing interest each day. One thing we were able to accomplish this month was building business connections. We are able to obtain financial donations to our chapter by volunteering to assist caterers at local Christmas parties. This is an opportunity for members to help get involved with our chapter and get out in the community. Members were also given the chance to help set up Christmas decorations for a local business and receive an additional donation. Fundraising has been something our chapter has been really focused on. We started our early morning drink shop in October, and that has still been going strong. Helping with member involvement within the chapter, and bring in more money for our chapter. Another fundraiser we are preparing for this month is concessions. Our chapter does girls’ basketball concessions, but this requires a lot of preparation. Things we have been doing to prepare are creating sign up sheets to gather workers for each game night, as well as getting supplies for concessions.

Thank you to all of the Chapters who submitted their news!
