Take a look at what the chapters in NORTH DAKOTA are doing this month!
Ashley:
During the month of November, the chapter helped serve the Lion’s Supper at the Ashley Legion. This event took place on the 9th of November, where members volunteered for multiple hours. There was lots of washing dishes and bussing tables that went on at this event, but our members sure made it look easy!
November ended with Santa Days on the 30th. The whole month we had planned for this day filled with holiday fun. We decorated our school gym before we left for Thanksgiving break with lots of Christmas décor. With help from the Ashley FFA chapter we had lots of baked goods for the cake walk and activities such as bucketball, face painting, letters to Santa, mini golf, balloon darts, and more! We couldn’t be more thankful from the help our community gave us that led this day to be so successful. This was a great way to end the month of November!
Burke Central:
Burke Central FBLA had a busy month in November. We celebrated American Enterprise Day by coming up with a new product and then creating the advertising media to promote the item. We presented our products to our chapter through a power point. It was neat to see all the different products we created from memory eraser spray to gravity defying shoes. We also have been getting ready for our annual vendor show at the school. We organize and operate the show and also have a booth to sell items such as Christmas stockings and t-shirts.
Carrington:
In the month of November, our chapter focused on upcoming fundraising events. At our officer meeting, we planned for our soup supper and our FBLA/American Heart Association bake sale, both taking place early December. Our chapter also planned a community service project of making Christmas goodies and delivering them to our nursing home in our community. Our officers also discussed the state conference. At our all member meeting, we awarded our member of the month, Brooke Almond, had members sign up for our upcoming fundraisers, sign up for state competitive events, and went over BAA/LEAD awards.
Drake-Anamoose:
High School:
This month the Drake-Anamoose FBLA Chapter worked in the coffee shop and selected all of their events for State Leadership Conference. The monthly meeting was on November 19th over zoom due to weather. We had a guest speaker Kaidence Hase, former state president and national officer. She spoke about how to prioritize, getting projects done and not to procrastinate. Then our Advisor and Chapters Social Media, Vice President, and Secretary officers traveled to Oklahoma for the Learn to Lead Conference. Our chapters member of the month was Bianca Burkle.
Middle School:
We held many coffee shops. We also had a meeting over zoom due to bad weather. We had a speaker Kaidence Hase a former state, and national officer of ours. She talked about how to be prepared for state and starting our projects early. She also stated how great it would be to prioritize our lives. Our member of the month is Blake Lagason. We got all of our members that are attending state to sign up for events and plan out for them.
Edgeley:
Glen Ullin:
In November, our FBLA chapter was actively engaged in various activities. We organized a successful bake sale, which not only raised funds for our chapter but also fostered a sense of community and teamwork among our members. Additionally, we held a meeting to discuss and plan the remaining events for the month. This meeting provided an opportunity for members to share ideas and collaborate on upcoming events. We also took the time to assign committee responsibilities and plan events for our Month of Giving in December, ensuring a smooth transition for the next month. Overall, November was a productive month.
Grand Forks Central:
This past month two of our members, Cora and Eden, worked together for their Community Service project. They planned what they wanted to do, communicated with the program, set up a meeting with chapter officers to ask for help, and raised over $1,100 for a program in Grand Forks! We plan to meet with the program later this week to donate the money and meet with program administrators.
Hillsbro:
During the month of November, we had our Annual Boogie ball. We had over 100 students participate in our annual dance and costume party. The top three favorite costumes also received a Scheels gift card. We were able to invite some of our staff as well and they had a blast.
Lairmore:
This month, our chapter did many things to give back to the community. We started off the month with three different ice cream sales. The organizations we helped were The ND Cystic Fibrosis Association, The American Heart Association, and The Alzheimer’s Association. Each organization was able to receive around two hundred dollars from the fundraising! We also helped our local theater with their movie concessions, which was a good project for our middle-level members. Our chapter was also very busy with our school’s concession sales, which helped us fundraise for the state conference coming up. We ended the month with decorating The Good Sam, a local nursing home in our community.
Mandan:
This month we have continued to work with Lewis and Clark Elementary School to help the 5th grade students with their American Enterprise themed projects. We will visit again on the 15th to help them with their product fair. We will be decorating a tree at the Mandan Public Library for a fundraiser while partnering with our schools HOSA and FCCLA chapters. We have also started planning our community service project. We just held our November chapter meeting on 11/8. We allowed members to participate in a Clubs Choice fundraiser and submit Mandan FBLA T-shirt order forms.
May-Port CG:
This month our chapter kicked it off by celebrating American Enterprise day by going on a business tour in Fargo. Our chapter went and toured NDSCS and learned about the many programs that they offer. We also toured an Amazon warehouse and were shown around, after touring these places we went to Suite Shots, as a chapter we had a fun time and enjoyed good food. Our middle-level chapter also worked quite hard this month by going to the elementary school to spread awareness of the importance of kindness. Our chapter also had professional dress day this month and our officers met for a work night to finish up things like service season and other chapter projects.
Nedrose:
Nedrose kicked off November with a Chapter Outing to North Hill Bowl in Minot, ND to which we had 21 members attend. We also submitted our Champion Chapter Shaping Success activities. On November 23 we hosted a work day so members could work on BAA/LEAD awards and continue to prepare for their competitive events. Our chapter was scheduled to do some volunteer work, but unfortunately the ND winter weather caused us to postpone the opportunity until December. We continue to have chapter meetings every other week to keep up to date with activities, fundraisers, etc. We continue to work towards completing all the activities for Service Season before the January deadline.
Stanley:
Stanley FBLA had a successful month of November. We continued our work with the American Heart Association by meeting with Tim Nikolai to discuss our emergency response plan for the high school. Our chapter had a morning meeting on American Enterprise day where we played a Kahoot trivia game about unique business and FBLA facts. The top three winners won a bundt cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes. Our chapter also sold lemonade for American Enterprise Day to raise money for our chapter. We held a BAA and Competitive events work night on Sunday, November 24. Our members have completed 18 levels of the BAAs so far. This is a requirement for our members to attend SLC so this number will continue to increase. Stanley FBLA members also continued to compete in the Stock Market game and the Virtual Business Challenge. Our largest project we worked on this month is our Financial Literacy Boot Camp for grades 11-12, but that is taking place on December 4.
Tioga:
During the month of November, Tioga’s FBLA chapter was working hard! On the 3rd of this month, during one of our monthly meetings/work days, we heard from a special guest speaker, Emma Larson. A former FBLA member, chapter officer, and national attendee! Giving us some great insight and tips about public speaking, test taking, and other important topics. We also had our chapter visit our local elementary school to participate in our American Enterprise Project. While there, we taught kindergarteners about currency and wants versus needs! All of this has led to a very successful month!
Wishek:
The month of November was a lot of fun for Wishek FBLA. On November 8th, we held a night to talk about BAA’s, Leads, and competitive events for Middle School and High School. We served pizza and played nitro ball after we had finished. In all, we had 18 members attend. On November 11th, we held a short officer meeting to discuss updates and progress to our Program of Work, as well as the overall morale of members and the outlook for the rest of the year. On November 13th, we held a membership meeting to discuss our plan, the logistics, and the help needed for our American Enterprise Day project. Also at that meeting, we informed the members of the officers’ updates to the Program of Work, as well as the progress that had been made. On November 15th, our chapter executed our American Enterprise Day project, in which we served Italian Sodas to the school to showcase how enterprise works. We sold over 100 sodas in one day and the project was a huge success.
Thank you to all of the Chapters who submitted their news!
