Take a look at what the chapters in NORTH DAKOTA are doing this month!
Bowbells:
In the month of August, we hosted a fundraiser at our local harvest hoedown. This fundraiser included a corn hole shoot with a chance to win bottles of pop. Now since the school year has started we have started to select officers. To become an officer you must submit an application that asks questions about yourself and FBLA and include your resume. We have decided to get a jump on our Summer Starter projects for Champion Chapter. This school year our adviser has decided to start a FBLA Friday. This allows us students to work on FBLA activities during her class on Fridays.
Burke Central:
This month we selected our officers and held our first meeting of the year! We also worked on the summer started and discussed some fundraising ideas. We also are working on our shirts.

Drake – Anamoose:
High School-
This month, the Drake-Anamoose FBLA Chapter has been on its toes! Early this August, before school even started, the High School and Middle School Officers got together to train the new officers and refresh the former officers who were returning. They also invited two guests who were majorly dedicated to FBLA and have graduated to help train. Next, they held their FBLA 101 meeting on August 18th, which welcomed back returning members and excited newcomers for the upcoming year by going over all the basics and introducing the new additions to the chapter. This chapter also held its Officer Installation meeting in August, on the 25th. At this meeting, they had a very special guest to help swear in the High School and Middle School officers for their respective duties. This guest was no other than Codey Irwin, North Dakota State Secretary from Minot-North! Codey traveled all the way to come speak at the meeting and help swear in their upcoming officers for duty. Besides all of these meetings, the Drake-Anamoose FBLA Chapter has also been very busy in their coffee shop, adding an espresso machine and staying on top of monthly specials!

Hatton/Northwood:
We had 2 officer training meetings. Created our Program of Work, and it’s ready for submission for the Champion Chapter. We have 10 out of the 13 Summer Starter requirements completed. We will have all of them completed by the submission date. We had a recruitment meeting and we have closed to our goal and have enough to have member retention. We made Monkey Bread to go along with our theme Don’t Monkey Around, Join FBLA. We have set 3-4 goals for the year, such as maintaining or increasing membership. Have our Community Service Project idea and members willing to be the chairpeople. We have a T-shirt idea and are getting them ordered. During our officer training meeting, we came up with goals for the year, what to do for the Community Service Project, recruitment meeting ideas, worked on the Champion Chapter, and worked on our Program of Work to be handed out to our members. Locker decorations have been made and handed out to members along with a small gift for joining. Created a recruitment PowerPoint to Make Your Mark and presented it to prospective members at our Recruitment Meeting. We created a recruitment PowerPoint for the 7th graders, and our officer team presented it to them in hopes that they would join FBLA. Delivered our Sports Calendars around 40 of them. Established a communication channel that works best for each school. A couple of members have started their BAA’s for the year.

Thank you to all of the Chapters who submitted their news!
